For the partner
Things that you can do to help your partner in labor
include:

Helping her to get comfortable in the labor room,
helping her to focus, breathing with her during
contractions, provide positive feedback, massage
her back, place a cool cloth on her face, ice chips.

Remember that you love your partner and she loves
you!

Trust yourself to respond to her needs by listening to
her verbal and nonverbal cues.

Your body
You will continue to feel irregular contractions or
tightening.

Your baby is considered term after 37 weeks
and could be born any day.

Remember, labor is unpredictable!!

You might be feeling more pelvic pressure as the
baby “drops” and settles into your pelvis.

You should go to the hospital if you go
into labor, and/or your water breaks, have
significant vaginal bleeding, or develop
painful uterine contractions every 3-5
minutes for 2 hours.

Pregnancy tips
“Make sure that you have prepared for
breastfeeding if this is desired with either a class
or a breastfeeding book.

Continue kick counts.

To time contractions, count from beginning
of one contractions to the beginning of the
next contraction and the duration of each
contraction.

Braxton Hicks contractions might be coming
more frequent. This is usually experienced
as abdominal tightening or even irregular
painful uterine contractions!!
