The Palomar RejuveLux system provides comfortable and effective treatment for unwanted pigment from sun damage, birthmarks or age spots. The process works through emission of intense pulses of light at a specific wavelength that is absorbed by melanin pigment and is converted to heat.  The heat dissolves the cells that create the pigment.   You can expect a mild sunburn sensation following treatment.  The pigmented areas will darken initially following the treatment, and then will naturally slough from the skin within 1-2 weeks.  The appointments are quick, and you can return to work or other activities immediately. Typically, several treatments will be necessary to achieve complete clearance of pigment.
